The anthologies of 2021 are finally out! It has been a quiet year but quite a bit has happened on the YAP front. YAP has completed nine batches. This was a small dream I had- bring children from all over the world together to write fiction and it’s happening. I have been falling off the blog but I plan to be more regular now and talk about more writing related stuff here.
The last couple of workshops were super interesting. The children wrote about phoenixes, griffins, tooth fairies and human monsters. The pandemic was an essential part of many stories and fantasy was a staple in the minds of children who have now spent almost three years trapped indoors .
After a year of silence, the children finally got to see their names in the anthologies. There are around forty stories and each one is different. Please encourage these young writers by picking up their books.
The cover illustrations are also by one of my young writers: Inika Singh Mondal. She sent me a picture of a phoenix based on her story and I knew that she could make me an equally brilliant second cover, which she did.
A lot of work has gone into these anthologies. Some children worked especially hard on their stories- finetuning them until they looked just right. I took a long time to put it altogether and edit it. The Pothi team helped me with the shipping so all in all, a great team effort!
Here are the links to the books. I assure you that there are some gems in there!

Griffins and Gabbar Singh
I will be talking more about these books in subsequent posts!
